Saturday Video Parade!
Today is a very special day in Montreal. Not only is it Saturday and the start of the weekend but today also marks the first day of the annual 2 Day Osheaga Festival that will take place at Parc Jean-Drapeau today and tomorrow. So while we’re hoping that most of you reading this are planning on heading down to Parc Jean-Drapeau as we are in just a few minutes, we know that there are some people not heading to this year’s festival. While a couple of music videos are obviously no substitution for a whole day of fun and live music under the sun and stars, sadly it’s all we’ve got to offer. So without further ado, here is our latest Saturday Video Parade with brand new videos by Tegan and Sara, Caribou, Robyn, Chromeo, Chemical Brothers, Holy Ghost and more!
Yukon Blonde & The Wooden Sky Tour Together, Play Montreal October 26th
One of the biggest surprises of the last year for us was The Wooden Sky’s performance last November at Il Motore. We went into the show not really knowing what to expect and were pleasantly surprised by not only a great set, but an overall really fun show. Fast forward a few months and the now Polaris Prize nominated Toronto band have just announced that they will be hitting the road for five weeks this fall with fellow Polaris nominees, Vancouver’s Yukon Blonde. The best news of all is that the two band’s will be making a stop in Montreal on October 26th at La Sala Rossa, making this one of our most anticipated shows of the fall.
This Week in Montreal
We’ve been counting down the days to Osheaga, and it’s finally here! However you don’t need to wait until Saturday to get into the festival spirit for we’ve got Osheaga in the City shows from Yoav, Of Montreal, and Chromeo with Neon Indian to psych us up for the big weekend. Now all we’ve got to do is pick out a comfy pair of shoes and cross our fingers for blue skies. Don’t let the excitement get too much to your head, lest you forget we’ve got some other great shows happening this week in Montreal. Hercules and Love Affair are in town, bringing their infectious disco jams to Le Belmont this Tuesday. Keep on reading for highlights of other shows to check out this week, including The Felice Brothers and Shapes & Sizes.
