M For Montreal Lineup Announced
November 19th Showcase
Headlining the first night of the festival Montreal’s Think About Life will bring their funky dance magic to the Cabaret, where the majority of this festival is taking place. It’s a pretty fitting spot for them as their latest release, Family has been going strong as one of the best releases of the summer and they are sure to bring in a significant amount of party people ready to dance. But Think About Life’s set is just the nightcap on what will be an amazing night of live music. Take a look at the rest of the night’s schedule:
8:30 – Final Flash (NRJ Stage)
9:05 – The Luyas (CHOM Stage)
9:40 – Miracle Fortress (NRJ Stage)
10:15 – The Rural Alberta Advantage (CHOM Stage)
10:50 – You Say Party! We Say Die! (NRJ Stage)
11:25 – Think About Life (CHOM Stage)
November 20th Showcase
The second night of the festival is headlined by one of the catchiest electronica bands we have come across in quite awhile. While the electro world has been dominated by some pretty talented Europeans over the past few years it is Montreal’s own Le Matos who will peel the paint off the Cabaret’s walls with their beats on November 20th after we hear from a lineup of some stellar starters. Here’s the full lineup:
8:30 – Two Hours Traffic (CHOM Stage)
9:05 – Silly Kissers (NRJ Stage)
9:40 – DD/MM/YYYY (CHOM Stage)
10:15 – Parlovr (NRJ Stage)
10:50 – Silver Starling (CHOM Stage)
11:25 – Le Matos (NRJ Stage)
November 21st Showcase (Day)
The third day of the festival features an afternoon of some of the best francophone bands to emerge recently. And keep in mind this is an afternoon show. The headliners are the fun and funky duo of Dom Hamel and Sabrina Sabotage who, when combined, turn into fruit and call themselves Orange Orange. How fun. The rest of the lineup for the day is pretty snazzy as well, and features a set by one of the best franco-pop bands to come out of Montreal this year, La Patère Rose. Take a look at the rest of the lineup:
3:00 – Caracol – Petit Campus
3:35 – Marie-Pierre Arthur – Cafe Campus
4:10 – Automelodi – Petit Campus
4:45 – La Patère Rose – Cafe Campus
5:20 – Géraldine – Petit Campus
5:55 – Orange Orange – Cafe Campus
November 21st Showcase (Night)
What better way to cap off this great three days of shows in Montreal than with Fucked Up; the winners of 2009′s Polaris Music Prize, awarded to the best Canadian album of the year, based solely on artistic merit. Many people (including the band members themselves) were surprised when this collective from Toronto, Ontario took home the award, but they have definitely payed their dues, and are quite deserving of the prestigious award. This grand finale will be held at Metropolis on November 21st, but before Fucked Up do their fucking up, there are some other great Canadian artists that will do their best to entertain you. Here is the lineup for the night:
8:00 – Xavier Caffeine
8:45 – Mistress Barbara w/ Girls On A Ducat
9:30 – Melissa Auf Der Maur
10:15 – Malajube (can this lineup get any better?)
11:00 – Champion & His G-Strings
11:45 – Fucked Up
So there you have it. I don’t know about you but we are really pumped up for this!
