Tonight in the City: DD/MM/YYYY, Cotton Mouth

Ok, we lied. We are still expected to get pounded with 20 to 30 centimeters of fluffy white stuff. But that shouldn’t deter you from checking out one of the two highlight shows that we have coming up tonight in the city. Let’s have a look shall we…

Cotton Mouth – Casa Del Popolo

Our first highlight is Montreal’s own Cotton Mouth, playing at Casa Del Popolo. Watching a Cotton Mouth show is like getting two bands for the price of one. While the project is mainly Martin Horn’s, he has all three members of Montreal’s Parlovr as his backing band. So you get all the fun-loving antics of Parlovr, along with Horn’s excellent song-writing skills. What more can you ask for? Opening up for them will be two other up-and-coming Montreal bands, The F in Fresh and Intensive Care. The show will probably kick off around 9:00 PM so be sure to give yourself ample time for all the trudging etc.

DD/MM/YYYY – Il Motore

If you’re in the mood for something that will really get your blood pumping why not check out Toronto, Ontario’s DD/MM/YYYY‘s show tonight at Il Motore. If you have yet to see these guys live we strongly suggest you drag yourself out to this one. These guys put on one hell of a show, complete with frantic drum smashing, guitar thrashing, and a whole lot of yelling. Opening up for them will be Montreal bands Denial Tone and Hey Predator! The show is $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door and tickets can be purchased here. So come on out! It’s only a little snow!
