Top 20 Albums of 2009: #16 Silversun Pickups – Swoon
Silversun Pickups released their first EP Pikul in July of 2005. Since then they released their first full length album Carnavas, making a name for themselves in the alternative rock scene. Their latest album Swoon was released this April. The album consists of Brian Aubert’s same rough, pitchy vocals and grungy guitars along with Nikki Monninger’s smooth bass grooves but with a more clean and polished feel than on past efforts. Let’s just say, there’s been nothing but improvement from Carnavas to Swoon. The first single released off the album was “Panic Switch”. Some other notable tracks off the album are “Growing Old Is Getting Old” and “Catch and Release”.
Silversun Pickups are currently touring with Muse and will hit Montreal March 10th, 2009.
