We thought it would be a great idea to countdown our top albums 2009. Great albums should not be forgotten, so we’re reliving their glory for each day until the new years officially rolls in, and although it took a while to narrow down our picks for the top 20, we pulled through!

In a year when there were many debut albums that won over the critics and the music-listening public, there were a few of those album which really stood out, leading the pack. One of those albums was Fool’s Gold’s self-titled debut effort. From the get-go, the album takes off into a whirlwind of danceable, jazzy, afro-funk numbers. One of the brightest moments is the lead-off track and first single “Suprise Hotel.” Here’s the video for the song.
