Some Quick Notes
So, with the new year (it’s 2010, in case you kinda zoned out for the past little while, or have no access to a calendar), comes something new to Meet You At The Show. Starting this year, we’re going to be reviewing albums for the site, and with all the exciting and much-anticipated albums due for release in the next little while, it should be cool.
Soundgarden is getting back together. (pitchfork)
Radiohead mentioned during last year’s summer tour, that they were working on some brand new material and were going to be heading into the studio come winter to continue work on that new material. This is for sure happening. Johnny Greenwood said so (deadairspace).
Oh God: Courtney Love is back, and is getting ready to release an album, and is planning to tour as well. Yes, the band name will be Hole.
A new album by Serena Maneesh is out, entitled S-M 2: Abyss in B Minor. One of the tracks “Ayisha Abyss” is offered as a free download. Seriously, download it. It’s pretty cool.
Hot Chip’s soon-to-be released album One Life Stand just got an album cover.
Montreal radio personality Ted Bird resigned from the CHOM 97.7 station, CTV reports.
NIN himself, Trent Reznor, who has been on a break since concluding his Wave Goodbye tour a couple months ago, is working on new Nine Inch Nails material, as well as material for a non-NIN project, according to a message he posted on the band’s official website.
The Knife providing an opera soundtrack! (pitchfork)
Vampire Weekend is letting you listen to the whole of their album free of charge on their website, so hurry on to www.vampireweekend.com and listen, because this is most likely a limited time thing.
News never stops and is an ongoing thing, so this is likely ‘to be continued’…
