Sweet Mother Logic Ticket & Album Giveaway! – ENDED
Our latest contest has come to an end. This time around we were giving away a pair of tickets to Montreal’s own Sweet Mother Logic‘s upcoming show tomorrow night, Friday March 12th at Petit Campus. And to sweeten the deal (if it wasn’t already sweet enough) the winner will also receive a copy of SML’s brand new self titled LP. So without further ado the winner of the contest is…Marc Wall! Congratulations Marc, you have won! Just give your name at the door and you and a friend will be admitted to the show. Your album will be waiting for you when you get there.
In our latest contest we asked you to give us the culinary equivalent of your favourite bands and the results were pretty hilarious. Here were the top three answers with our winner’s answer first:
Radiohead: If Thom Yorke was a dish he would be a baked salmon sandwich with arugula and roasted nectarine on a fresh slice of 12 grain bread…with aioli
The Mountain Goats: A Vegetarian Squash and Avacado soup with coriander and lime juice.
The Band: Beer battered popcorn shrimp, with a good IPA to wash em down.
Thanks for all of the great answers!
For those of you that didn’t win this will be a show like no other so I suggest you check it out anyway. The title of Friday night’s show is “The Sensory Overload Show”. This concert will not only be a treat for the eyes and ears but will tease and titillate all of your senses. I bet you’re thinking how the hell can a concert have anything to do with my sense of taste. Well the only way to find out is to attend. But rest assured this show will be like none other you have ever attended before. Montreal experimental jazz collective The Youjsh will open, followed by orchestral pop dynamos Sweet Mother Logic and then finally, DJ 11:11 will keep things rolling until the lights go out. From a press release:
“This is a massive multimedia collaboration between Sweet Mother Logic, video artists, stereographers, animators, dancers, sculptors, chefs, chemists, and many others. It is almost unheard of to see a project encompassing such a wide range of senses and disciplines, and each element of it is truly unique in its own right”
