For those of you that didn’t win, this is a show not to be missed so we urge you to check it out anyways. Dosh hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota and aside from playing with the likes of Lateduster, Fog and Andrew Bird, Dosh has been developing his own music for years, releasing five full length albums and three EPs. Whereas Andrew Bird is known for his violin and his whistling, Dosh, who has worked alongside Bird on the road as well as in the studio is more known for his brilliance in percussion, as well as a myriad of other instruments. His latest album, Tommy, was released on April 13th and has Dosh exploring some new and exciting musical terrain. Opening up the night will be Massachussets born singer songwriter, White Hinterland. Casey Dienel began her musical career recording under her own name, but her last two albums were recorded under the White Hinterland moniker. Her music is ambient, sexy and somewhat spellbinding, with deep, groovy beats, samples and Dienel’s smooth and sultry vocals. To have these two talented individuals playing the same show right here in Montreal is quite a treat. Here’s a video of Dosh in action:
