Getting To Know The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt!

The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt’s philosophy can be summed up pretty nicely with the title of their debut album: I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU AND I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU! HAVE AN AWESOME DAY! HAVE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE!!. This is what The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt set out to accomplish night in and night out. According to band leader Neil Fridd, fan involvement at a TPDR! show is akin to how “people need air and food (to survive)”. When asked how they try to shake people out of their lethargy and get involved in the show he replied, “Imagine being attacked by 9 Billy Blanks‘ over dance beats. I guess we’re maybe less demanding but we do like people to get down with us.” But even the introverted and the flowers of the wall are welcome at a TPDR! show. As Fridd states, “It’s okay to do what you know in your heart to be right. We’re a band built off the idea of not having to sit around quietly at shows if you don’t want to. We try and give you the freedom and safety to go nuts if you want to. By the same token if you don’t want to you don’t have to. It’s not: “you have to dance or else!!” It’s “You have to do what makes you happy or else!”

What can you expect at a Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! show? Well, dancing of course. But you can also expect some of the oddest and most elaborate costumes you’ve ever seen. “We dress up at every show and we look HOT. We also bring enough costumes for everyone so they can all look HOT. There’s lots of HOTNESS.”

Fridd offered us an example of one of the craziest shows on the current tour. “(In) Little Rock, AR. Those guys fucking bring it so hard. We packed 40 or 50 kids into the tiniest living room I’ve ever been in, let alone played a show in and went nuts. One of those shows where I’m bracing myself against the light table against a billion kids screaming their lungs out trying to stop everything from tipping over onto our drummer. I was unsuccessful and it ruled.”

What kind of antics will go down at Montreal’s Friendship Cove on Saturday, April 24th? You will have to get yourself down to the show to find out. One thing is for sure, it will be like no other show you have ever been to. “It will be a tremendous show. We had so much fun last time we were in Canada and our so pumped to do it again!”

The show is being put on by Blue Skies Turn Black and tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased online here or at the door. Opening up will be The Shakes and Montreal’s supperfossilpower. Here’s a video that the band made for the upcoming tour:
