Jason Collett, Zeus, Bahamas Ticket Giveaway! – ENDED
This time around we asked you to name as many members (past and present) of Broken Social Scene as you can. The winner would be the person who could name the most (obviously). So with a grand total of 43 members named the winner is Ryan Taylor. Congratulations Ryan, you have won! Simply give your name at the door the night of the show and you and a friend will be admitted.
For those of you that entered but did not win we would like to thank you for your effort. Some of you were very VERY close. But alas, there can only be one winner. Even if you didn’t win you should still head out to Petit Campus Thursday night because this will be a show you do not want to miss. Jason Collett needs no introduction. For the past ten years, not only has he been writing solo music, putting out 6 albums in that span, but he has also served as one of Canadian indie supergroup Broken Social Scene’s core members. Collett is now on tour in support of his latest full length album, entitled Rat A Tat Tat, which was released last month. The album was actually produced by Carlin Nicholson and Michael O’Brien, who are two of the members of Zeus. The two other members of Zeus are Rob Drake and Neil Quin, and it just so happens that before they decided to record their own music they were Collett’s backing band. Bahamas aka Afie Jurvanen is still riding the wave of success that came with his debut solo album, entitled Pink Strat, which came out last summer. Before recording the album, Jurvanen actually served as one of Jason Collett’s touring band members and he enlisted the help of members of Great Lake Swimmers, Zeus and Feist to help him out with his album. Who said the Canadian indie music scene wasn’t incestuous?
To get you even more excited, here’s Jason Collett’s brand new video for the song “Love is a Dirty Word”:
Stay tuned because we are going to be announcing some great new ticket giveaways and contests this week and next.
