Yesterday was a fun day for Arcade Fire news. After the band made that mysterious 12″ available and the songs leaked onto the internet creating much chat and debate, today brought some even more exciting Arcade Fire news. The band will be releasing their third full length LP, entitled The Suburbs (surprise surprise) in only a month on their own Sonovox label in Canada. We’ve got all the details and the album cover after the jump.
That’s right, on August 3rd you will be able to hear an album full of new Arcade Fire songs. They have been working on this album for the past two years in both Montreal and New York City and wrote, arranged and produced it all themselves with the help of Markus Dravs (Brian Eno, Bjork, Coldplay) as co-producer. You can pre-order the album now by heading over to ArcadeFire.com. All pre-orders will receive an instant free download of both “Month of May” and “The Suburbs”. You can hear both songs streaming now right here.
Your first chance to hear these songs will be when the band plays Montreal’s Osheaga Festival on July 31st at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Tickets for that can be purchased here.
