Sally Seltmann Ticket Giveaway – ENDED
You heard us! It’s time to announce the winner of our latest ticket giveaway for a pair of tickets to see Sally Seltmann live in Montreal at Le Cagibi, tomorrow night, June 17th. In our latest contest we asked you to watch Sally Seltmann’s latest video for her song “Dream About Changing” from her incredible new album, Heart That’s Pounding and tell us what you thought was the significance behind the magical egg that Seltmann carries around during the video. The winning response was given by none other than Anastas P who said that the egg was symbolic of Seltmann breaking out of her shell. Congratulations Anastas! All you have to do now is give your name at the door and you and a friend will be admitted to the show.
For those of you that did not win we strongly suggest you check out this show because it is going to be a good one. Prior to the release of her newest album Heart That’s Pounding (Arts & Crafts), Sally Seltmann had been performing under the alias New Buffalo. As New Buffalo, the Australian chanteuse – and wife to Darren Seltmann of The Avalanches – released two albums, 2004′s The Last Beautiful Day and 2007′s Somewhere, Anywhere, both composed of sugary sweet ballads that are accented by chamber sounds, electronic flounces and endless sighs. With the 2010 release of Heart That’s Pounding and the dropping of her New Buffalo persona, Sally Seltmann seems ready for the next step in her career. While Seltmann’s last two albums are nothing short of perky or peppy, her new songs have an added joyous spring in their steps.
There’s another piece to the mystery that is Sally Seltmann. Remember 1234? Yes, the Feist grammy nominated smash hit that was played out in Ipod commercials all over the world…Well none other than Sally Seltmann co-penned that catchy tune. If that doesn’t convince you of her singer/song-writing abilities, perhaps some visuals might aid. Not only does Seltmann write some beautiful music, but she’s been releasing some uber-cute accompanying videos that just make you want to cuddle a puppy, run through a field of flowers, or chow down on some cotton candy. So we at Meet You at the Show, who love all the above mentioned activities, urge you to check out her new video for the single “Dream About Changing“:
