The winner of our latest ticket giveaway is none other than Melanie B! Congratulations Melanie, you and a friend are going to Divan Orange tomorrow night to check out three of Canada’s best up and coming bands. All you have to do now is give your name at the door and you are your friend will be admitted to the show.
If you didn’t win we strongly urge you to head over to Divan tomorrow night regadless. Like we said, this concert will feature three of Canada’s best new bands. Vancouver, BC’s The Zolas are touring in support of their incredibly catchy new album Tic Toc Tic (no relation to Ke$ha). This duo of Zachary Gray on vocals and guitar and Tom Dobrzanski on vocals and piano create some severely addictive piano led rock tunes that bring to mind band’s like Said The Whale and Cold War Kids. These guys are going to be big so you better take notice before it’s too late and you’re just another bandwagoner. Also playing on this night are Montreal’s own This Invention Matters. This 5 piece outfit, led by guitarist, keyboardist and singer Greg Halpin play a brand of orchestral rock music that can truly only really be appreciated in the live setting. Finally, rounding out the lineup is Kelowna, BC’s We Are The City. These BC youngsters have been making big waves in their home province and are now spreading their wings on the road with The Zolas. What’s amazing about these guys is how they can go from sounding something like Band of Horses to Muse in the blink of an eye. In short, you don’t want to miss this show. Need more incentive?
