Automatic Loveletter Take Over Warped Tour 2010
At about 2:00 PM, Automatic Loveletter hit the Kia Kevin Says stage near the middle of the Warped Tour village. Their slot, being fairly early in the day, proved to be just right as fans were warmed up and ready but still not too tired and caked with dust to rock out. The band played songs of their new album Truth or Dare including songs like “Hush”, “Day They Saved Us” and the anthemic single “Heart Song”. Lead singer Simms’ rough rock vocals pulled in people as they passed by and their audience grew dramatically over the course of their set. She then asked the audience to beat Toronto’s enthusiasm but couldn’t help but laugh during “Heart Song” as the audience attempted to crowd surf and throw themselves about rather unsuccessfully. She ended the song laughing and saying, “You guys just seriously kicked yesterday’s ass.”
Despite the heat and the blazing sun (giving EVERYONE sunburns!), both the crowd and the entire band seemed to have had a fantastic time. It was clear to me that they left that stage with new fans and a new love for Montreal. – Kailey Diogo
