The Dears To Perform Entire New Album At Residencies This Fall
The Dears have had their ups and downs as a band from the time they first came together in 1995 until now. Besides the band’s two primary members, husband and wife duo Murray Lightburn and Natalia Yanchak, the band’s supporting lineup has seen quite a few changes. It’s latest incarnation has long time member Patrick Krief back in the lineup along with Rob Benvie, Roberto Arquilla and the band’s newest member, Jeff Luciani. About the new lineup the band had this to say:
“We’ve seen many line-up changes, but this one is quite special. Some of our relationships, and friendships, go back over 10 years. The result has been powerful and chilling, like some cosmic design intent on blowing you away.”
This new lineup also just happens to have a new record coming out in 2011. The good news is that for us lucky Montrealers, as well as some folks in Toronto and Brooklyn, we will get to hear a sneak peak of the new album when the Dears play Pop Montreal this fall. In fact, the band will play the new album in it’s entirety at all 8 dates on their forthcoming tour.
The Dears have recently returned from an extremely successful string of tour dates in Mexico City and it is the essence of these shows that they will try to recapture at their forthcoming residency shows. These Montrealers have always been a philanthropic bunch as we have seen with their t-shirt design for Montreal based charity organization The Yellow Bird Project and they will continue in that vein at their shows this fall. The band will be donating all merch sales at the shows to the Montreal City Mission and War Child. Here are all the dates as well as ticket links for all!
