It would be a great idea to start planning your Saturday night if you haven’t already done so, since there are many great shows happening in the city tomorrow night. There will be a whole bunch of amazing local bands that will be playing the final night of M for Montreal 2010 along with Luke Doucet & The White Falcon who will be playing at Il Motore. But there is also another band that will be in town and while you might not have heard of them yet, rest assured that this will not be the last time you hear about The Balconies.
Based out of Toronto by way of Ottawa, this trio is composed of singer/guitarist Jacquie Neville, bassist/singer Steve Neville and drummer Liam Jaeger. They play highly energetic, guitar laden indie rock that combines intricate and catchy melodies with perfect vocal harmonies. Their show last month at Pop Montreal set the crowd on fire and trust me when I say that you don’t want to miss a chance to see this band live at a time when you can still say you knew about them first.
Joining The Balconies tomorrow night will be Montreal’s Laurent Bourque as well as Burlington, Ontario’s Sandman Viper Command. Tickets are 8$ in advance or 10$ at the door and can be purchased through Indie Montreal. You can expect the music to start somewhere around 9:30 PM so don’t be late! – Christine Superina
