TheNewDialect Launch Debut Album Tonight at Le Cheval Blanc
Formed earlier this year by singer and artist Elise Lafontaine and multi-instrumentist Patrick Hamilton (formerly from The Snitches), theNewDialect couldn’t be more aptly named. Defying categorization, their music is akin to a new language. Taking elements from pop but staying experimental, it is like a collage of electronic and organic sounds that seamlessly shift from minimalist to multi-layered and from light to dark, with Lafontaine’s hypnotic vocals leading the way. On stage they are joined by a crew of talented musicians that varies slightly with each show. Together they play a variety of instruments including guitar, organ, percussions, trumpet and tuba. The result is a performance that is both unique and quite powerful.
