Local Sounds: The T.E.A Band

Local Sounds: The T.E.A Band

The Thanya, Emilie and Ali Band is a group from Montreal that will definitely put a smile on your face. Their indie folk music will teach you the ten steps to someone’s heart, take you on a journey in their shoes and lull you into a trance with their lullabies. The lyrics to their songs are sarcastic narratives about the strange, but enticing lives of girls looking for love in all the wrong places.  The band members Thanya (vocals, violin, piano, beat boxing), Emilie (flute, harp, vocals), and Ali (upright bass) will undoubtedly give you your money’s worth live with their great music and lighthearted banter on stage. Thanya, Emilie and Ali met while studying music at Vanier College and they’ve been part of the local music scene for a little over a year. The T.E.A. Band are currently working on their first album, so keep your ears open.

You can hear their music here and here. If you like what you hear, you can buy their EP by clicking here . Also, you can check them out live at Burritoville on June 29th, 2011 as part of a benefit concert for Pasitos en Acción, an organization that raises funds for rural villages in Los Jobitos, Nicaragua.
