Ohbijou Ready New Album
Ohbijou is a sextet made up of James Bunton, Ryan Carley, Anissa Hart, Heather Kirby and sisters, Jenny Mecija and Casey Mecija. They play indie folk music that will often surprise you with its diversity and, at times, startling crescendos. Lead singer Casey Mecija is brilliantly accompanied by her multi-instrumentalist band members who play an assortment of instruments, from the ukulele and banjo to the cello, mandolin and glockenspiel. What can be admired most about Ohbijou are their haunting arrangements that support fragile melodies with grace and precision. A good example of this can be seen on “Make it Gold” and “Cliff Jumps” from their previous album, Beacons. While there isn’t much info out there about the new release, it’s safe to say that if Metal Meets is anything like Beacons, then listeners are definitely in for a treat.
Ohbijou has not set any tour dates as of yet in support of their new album which hits stores on September 27th, but we will keep you posted if and when the band decides to hit the road.
