Another Stage Collapses
It seems the theme this summer is collapsing stages. First it was the Bluesfest main stage which went down last month in Ottowa injuring people. Thankfully no one was killed. The Naked and Famous + Winter Gloves – La Sala Rossa – 08.10.11
Last night’s show at Sala Rossa was truly one of the hottest shows in Montreal this summer. And by hot, not only do I mean the show was sold out days before doors opened, I also mean the sweat-pouring-down-your-face kinda hot. Hosted by Indie Montreal, Sala Rossa was packed solid with barely any room to breathe. Bye-Bye Alexisonfire
The Ontario based band has officially called it quits after 10 years. Lead singer George Pettit posted on the group’s website that two of its members, Dallas Green and Wade MacNeil, have decided to pursue new paths. With Green focusing on City and Color, and MacNeil taking up with a new band, neither had Alexisonfire on the horizon anymore. Read more…

We’re back again to bring you another interview. We recently had a chance to speak to the New Zealand band The Naked and Famous. We’re big fans of these guys and they’re a pretty big deal back in the NZ. In 2010 their single “Young Blood” debuted on the New Zealand chart at number one and they we’re nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2011 poll as well. TUNNG – Casa Del Popolo – 11.15.10
Experimental-pop-folk group Tunng took everyone by surprise Monday night at Casa Del Popolo. Tunng has managed to push the boundaries of both pop and experimental music, while keeping them mellifluously blended at the same time. Their catchy, yet unique, sounding songs have gotten people in Montreal excited to see them perform live. The venue was ridiculously overpacked and a number of eager fans had to be turned away. M On The Quays 2010
While this past weekend wasn’t exactly ideal for outdoor concerts, the 2010 version of M on the Quays (M sur les Quais) went off with out a hitch. Some of Montreal’s best up and coming bands were put on display as well as some out of town talent as Montreal music fans and tourists alike huddled together for warmth at the quays of the old port this Saturday and Sunday.
