This list has been compiled from various sources around the web and will constantly change as new shows are announced or more information becomes available. With the Jazz Fest wrapping up tonight, it appears things are going to slow down this week in Montreal. After the B-52s and Rich Aucoin close out the festival with free shows tonight at the Scene TD and the Scene Bell in downtown Montreal, there are a select few shows that we feel are worth checking out this week. Sam Mickens at Sala Rossa on Wednesday is a show that you should definitely consider, along with the Callers show on Friday at Casa Del Popolo and Pink Moth on Sunday at Casa. Let’s face it, how many times do we have Tony Bennett, Dave Brubeck, Peter Frampton and Kaki King playing at the same time as Hey Ocean!, The Dears, White Denim, Mazes, Jaga Jazzist, The Roots and Weezer. The Jazz Fest takes full swing this week with a variety of amazing shows going on all over the city. Festivals galore! While this year’s Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival may be coming to an end this week with performances by Chad VanGaalen, The Strange Boys, Dirty Beaches, D’Eon and more, this week also marks the beginning of this year’s Montreal Jazz Festival. And what better way to kick off this year’s fest than with back to back performances by the legendary Prince at Metropolis. But don’t get too excited unless you already have tickets because both nights are sold out. There are also some great smaller shows going on this week at Club Lambi, Il Motore and Cabaret Mile End so be sure to check them out as well. The Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival continues to roll on this week with a whole new batch of great and eclectic musicians from all over the musical spectrum. Omar Souleyman, Dolphins Into The Future, Jerusalem In My Heart, Parlovr, Colin Stetson and Lichens are a few of the great artists that will be taking the stage this week as a part of this years festival so be sure to check them out. Besides the Suoni shows there are a bunch of great shows going on this week in Montreal. The Dodos and The Antlers will play La Tulipe on Wednesday and Cults will play Il Motore on Sunday. With the end of the 12th edition of the annual MUTEK Festival comes the beginning of the this year’s Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival, which celebrates great music in all of it’s various forms. Playing as a part of the festival this week are Molly Sweeney, Tonstartssbandht, Grimes, Keiji Haino, Silent Land Time Machine, Alele Diane, Junior Boys and many more. Festival Season kicks off this week in Montreal with the 12th annual MUTEK Festival, which celebrates electronic music in all its various forms. Headlining this year’s fest are Amon Tobin and Four Tet, but those are just two of nearly 100 artists scheduled to perform at this year’s fest. That’s not all that’s going on this week however. Lissie, Javelin, Future Islands, This Will Destroy You and Aloe Blacc all have shows lined up for this week and Montreal’s own Socalled will be launching his brand new album on Friday night at the Ukrainian Federation. In short, it’s going to be a very busy week for Montreal music lovers. Here’s all the highlights:

While this week won’t be the busiest week we’ve ever seen in Montreal for concerts there are still some great shows that are certainly worth checking out. Highlights this week include MAN MAN, Austra, Johnny Flynn and Friendly Fires. On the local front we’ve got folk songstress Charlotte Cornfield playing tonight at Casa Del Popolo, The Lindbegh Line, Bad Weather and She’s Got A Habit playing on Tuesday night at Divan Orange, Little Scream playing on Wednesday night at Il Motore and Snailhouse will close out the week on Sunday at La Sala Rossa.
