This Week in Montreal

This Week in Montreal

There is so much going on this week, we don’t know where to start. Tunng kicks off this busy week tonight at Casa Del Popolo. To get a little more acquainted with Tuung check out our interview with the UK experimental pop group HERE. By now, we’re pretty sure you’ve come across Aloe Blacc‘s infectious single “I Need A Dollar.” Lucky for us, the soulful Mr. Blacc will be playing at Le Belmont. Be sure to check out interview with the R&B/hip-hop sensation HERE. This week also brings us M for Montreal (including M for Metropolis), a weekend-long showcase of some of Montreal’s best exports, including The Dears, SUUNS, and Valleys. If that’s not enough to keep you occupied, keep reading for more shows happening this week around Montreal including the return of kooky Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, No Age and Land of Talk.

Pop Montreal Nights: Part 2

Pop Montreal Nights: Part 2

Night two of Pop Montreal kicked off last night with a rainstorm that looked more like a monsoon. If you thought that would dampen the spirits of Montreal concert-goers last night you would be very wrong. The venues were all swarming with people last night despite the precarious weather outside. It’s going to take more than a little rain to keep us Montrealers from seeing the likes of Bear in Heaven, Holy Fuck, Clare & The Reasons, DVAS, Grimes, Pop Winds and the legendary Van Dyke Parks live in concert. We’ve got a whole bunch of pictures from an extremely busy day two at Pop Montreal 2010 after the jump.

Pop Montreal Preview – Part 2 (Thursday, Sept. 30)

The second day of Pop Montreal takes place this year on Thursday, September 30th. While day one offered us some really interesting shows we are going to go out on a limb and say day 2 at Pop Montreal this year will be the best day of the festival. One after another, we’ve got a stacked lineup on day 2 which will obviously lead to some very tough decisions on your part. We would like to try and make those decisions a little easier by giving you our picks for a busy day 2 at Pop Montreal 2010.

BSTB Celebrate Anniversary This Week

This weekend, Blue Skies Turn Black will be celebrating their 10 year anniversary, and they have invited Montreal music fans to the party.

Venue of the Month: Il Motore
