Guide to Osheaga 2010: Day 1
We’ve gone on and on about how good this year’s Osheaga Festival is promising to be. The initial lineup boasted some incredible acts like Arcade Fire, Stars, Pavement and The National. Over the ensuing months the Osheaga team went above and beyond in booking new acts to make the lineup even better. We are now only 11 sleeps away from day 1 of this year’s Osheaga Festival and all that’s left to decide is who to see at what time. That’s where we come in. The following is a comprehensive guide to this year’s Osheaga Festival which will hopefully make some very difficult decisions a little bit easier.
The Luyas – The Rialto Theatre – Wednesday, June 9th, 2010
There was a lot happening in the city last night. There was even a lot happening outside of the city, with the Arcade Fire playing a (not so) secret show in a parking lot in Longueuil. Arcade Fire – Place Longueuil Parking Lot – Wednesday, June 9th, 2010
Ironically, it was a friend of mine who has never been a huge fan of the Montreal indie-super-stars who was bearing the news. Leading the way are Montreal’s The Luyas and AIDS Wolf, along with Regina, Saskatchewan’s Rah Rah, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Read more…

Hear Both New Arcade Fire Singles Right Now!
It all started with a Pitchfork article claiming that someone found an indiscreet looking vinyl in Glasgow, Scotland that contained two new Arcade Fire songs called “The Suburbs” and “Month of May”. Osheaga 2010 Lineup Announced
Osheaga lineup announcement day is always on of the most exciting for us Montreal music lovers. In the past we’ve had our share of ups and downs when it came to announcement day, but it seems that the last few years have been pretty disappointing for many. Well it’s time to get excited about our little island’s major summer festival again because the lineup this year is just about as good as it gets.
Review: Owen Pallett – Heartland
Owen Pallett is known for his incredible orchestral arrangements, and his notable work with numerous artists such as Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Beirut and Pet Shop Boys. In order to avoid confusion with the immensely popular video game Final Fantasy, Owen Pallett has dropped his pseudonym for the release of his new concept album. Through Heartland, Owen has grown, discovered and experimented as a composer, and as a result his latest work is on a much grander scale than his previous work. Read more…
