This Week in Montreal
There is so much going on this week, we don’t know where to start. Tunng kicks off this busy week tonight at Casa Del Popolo. To get a little more acquainted with Tuung check out our interview with the UK experimental pop group HERE. By now, we’re pretty sure you’ve come across Aloe Blacc‘s infectious single “I Need A Dollar.” Lucky for us, the soulful Mr. Blacc will be playing at Le Belmont. Osheaga 2010 Day 1 Recap
Day 1 of Osheaga 2010 is in the books and I think we can all safely say that it was a huge success. Great music, perfect weather, good food, lots of free stuff and a grand finale of Arcade Fire is enough to make anyone giddy, but this day was much more than a long wait for Arcade Fire to play. Guide to Osheaga 2010: Day 1
We’ve gone on and on about how good this year’s Osheaga Festival is promising to be. The initial lineup boasted some incredible acts like Arcade Fire, Stars, Pavement and The National. Over the ensuing months the Osheaga team went above and beyond in booking new acts to make the lineup even better. We are now only 11 sleeps away from day 1 of this year’s Osheaga Festival and all that’s left to decide is who to see at what time. That’s where we come in. Busking For Change at Osheaga 2010
Following the succesful Busking For Change event that took place in Montreal back in March, in which some of Montreal’s finest musicians took to the streets and subway platforms in order to raise money for children affected by war, it has just been announced that Warchild will be bringing Busking For Change to this year’s Osheaga Festival in an effort to keep the philanthropy going. This Week in Montreal
While the weather may not be looking so hot for the week, there is good news on the horizon. Firstly, the Habs have made the playoffs, so there will be no rioting downtown (unless of course they win the first series). But more importantly, we’ve got an excellent week of concerts lined up. Kicking things off with Best Coast and No Joy tonight at The Friendship Cove and culminating on Sunday night with Gogol Bordello and DeVotchKa at Metropolis in what is sure to be one of the most entertaining shows on the year so far, the week is jam packed with great shows. Here are some more highlights.
Osheaga 2010 Lineup Announced
Osheaga lineup announcement day is always on of the most exciting for us Montreal music lovers. In the past we’ve had our share of ups and downs when it came to announcement day, but it seems that the last few years have been pretty disappointing for many. Well it’s time to get excited about our little island’s major summer festival again because the lineup this year is just about as good as it gets.

Last night was a big night in Montreal. Why? Because the mighty Wilco was in town to perform at the completely sold out Olympia. I think everyone in attendance expected a great performance, but to say last night’s performance was only great would be the understatement of the century.
