Friday night was Cabaret Juste Pour Rire’s last time hosting M for Montreal as, unfortunately, they will be closing down some time next month – but that’s not the only thing that made it a memorable night. Always one of the biggest dates on our must see calendar, the wonderful M For Montreal Festival that takes place every year in our great city kicks off tonight. Over the next three nights we will hear from some of Montreal’s finest musicians along with some great out of town talent. Shout Out Louds + Freelance Whales – Cabaret JPR – Friday, May 7th, 2010

Last night, Cabaret played host to Sweden’s Shout Out Louds and New York’s Freelance Whales. In a rare turn of events, the show started at the designated call time. So prompt, in fact, that only the absolute keeners, forming a thin line in front of the stage, had time to arrive before the sound of Freelance Whales was drifting through the room.
