Shout Out Louds + Freelance Whales – Cabaret JPR – Friday, May 7th, 2010
Last night, Cabaret played host to Sweden’s Shout Out Louds and New York’s Freelance Whales. In a rare turn of events, the show started at the designated call time. So prompt, in fact, that only the absolute keeners, forming a thin line in front of the stage, had time to arrive before the sound of Freelance Whales was drifting through the room.

This Week In Montreal
I know we say this every week, but this week will be an exceptionally good week of shows in Montreal. You may not have even had a chance to catch your breath after Jónsi and Yeasayer’s performances last night, but already tonight we’ve got Frightened Rabbit playing at Petit Campus with Maps & Atlases, My Brightest Diamond and David Martel playing at Il Motore and Jóhann Jóhannsson playing at L’Astral. Interview: Freelance Whales
New York’s Freelance Whales must be really getting to know Montreal by now. After playing at Il Motore earlier this month with Bear in Heaven and Cymbals Eat Guitars, the band will play here again in as many months, this time at the Cabaret with Shout Out Louds on Friday, May 7th. We had a chance to catch up with the band’s drummer Jacob Hyman in the midst of the band’s seemingly never ending touring schedule.
This Week in Montreal
We’ve got yet another incredible week of shows lined up in Montreal this week. While you may notice the week will start off a little slow, by the end of the week there are so many great shows happening you’re not gonna know what to do with yourself. Take this Thursday for example. Are you going to go see Horse Feathers at Divan Orange, Timber Timbre & The Luyas at La Tulipe, The Album Leaf & Sea Wolf at the Cabaret or Joseph Arthur at La Sala Rossa. This Week In Montreal

The Temper Trap – The Cabaret JPR – Wednesday, March 31st, 2010
Last night, while the Montreal Canadiens were on their way to another loss, there was at least one good thing happening in the city. That was the fact that Australia’s The Temper Trap were in town to play their first ever Montreal show at The Cabaret Juste Pour Rire.
