The Fans of Osheaga 2011
Osheaga 2011 was a very special year not only because of the amazing amount of great bands and artists that showed up to play this year’s festival, but because of all the wonderful fans that came out to enjoy the festivities. The Osheaga Festival would be nothing without the fans so as a tribute to all the amazing personalities that come together every summer to enjoy a weekend full of great music, here’s some photos of you, the fans.
Guide To Osheaga 2011: Day 3
This is it folks! The final day of Osheaga 2011 is rapidly approaching and it appears the Osheaga crew has saved the best for last this year. What a lineup we have in store for Sunday. Beirut, The Flaming Lips, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Death Cab For Cutie, Malajube, The Low Anthem, MSTKRFT. Of all three days, Sunday will be the toughest to manage schedule wise, but we will do our best to help you iron out those conflict in our third and final part to our guide to Osheaga 2011. Polaris Music Prize Announces Short List
It’s that time of year again! The short-list for this year’s Polaris Music Prize has just been announced. The prize this year, which will be awarded to the creators of the best Canadian album of the year, based solely on artistic merit and not taking into account genre or sales history, is $30,000 (a raise from the $10,000 awarded in past years). Each of the nine runners-up will also receive $2000 this year, courtesy of Slaight Music. Read more…
Lineup For Osheaga 2011
One of the most exciting times of the year for many Montrealers is the announcement of the lineup for the annual Osheaga Festival that happens every summer at Parc Jean Drappeau in Montreal. Well the time has come once again to find out who will be playing this year’s fest. The folks over at Osheaga let it slip last week that Eels would be playing as well as Death From Above 1979. Arbutus Records Is Making Waves in April
There’s a lot going on this month over at local record label Arbutus Records. The label that is home to some of the best Montreal bands like Silly Kissers, Grimes, Sean Nicholas Savage, Pop Winds and most recently, Dream Machine, will have a lot in store for us this month with a couple of great shows and some looming new album releases.
