Elliott Brood and One Hundred Dollars swept into the Sala Rosa on Saturday November 19th and blew the roof off. The former was in town supporting their most recent release, “Days Into Years,” and didn’t disappoint the nearly sold out show. There was much excitement in the air as the biggest crowd gathered inside the Rialto Theater for Coeur de Pirate’s album launch. The french-speaking songstress received significant media attention and widespread critical acclaim for her first self-titled album, which sold more than 600 000 copies worldwide. It was now time to see if Béatrice Martin would be able to do it again, as she embraced the start of her new journey with a sold-out, album-release concert.

Who’s heard of the 23 year old, Jamaican Canadian hip hop artist extraordinaire Jonathan Emile? Well if you haven’t yet, I guarantee you will soon enough. This is one of those truly unique artists that bring something different to the table or in Emile’s case I should say things. If you buy his latest EP, The Lover/Fighter Document, which I highly recommend you do, you’ll notice that Emile mixes all kinds of genres into his music. Every song is truly different and captures you in it’s own way.
