Cinéma L’amour’s Second Birthday Bonanza – 03.12.11
On Saturday December 3rd, Montreal-based nerd-rock duo Cinéma L’Amour celebrated their second year as a band with their Second Birthday Bonanza, a music/art filled evening of rock. To celebrate the evening and the release of Cinéma L’Amour’s brand new Long Drives/Empty Bottles, three other bands added their musical stylings to the line-up: Wind-Up People, People Person and A Grand Scene. This Week In Montreal
The Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival continues to roll on this week with a whole new batch of great and eclectic musicians from all over the musical spectrum. Omar Souleyman, Dolphins Into The Future, Jerusalem In My Heart, Parlovr, Colin Stetson and Lichens are a few of the great artists that will be taking the stage this week as a part of this years festival so be sure to check them out. Besides the Suoni shows there are a bunch of great shows going on this week in Montreal. The Dodos and The Antlers will play La Tulipe on Wednesday and Cults will play Il Motore on Sunday. Cinéma L’Amour Plot Cross Canada Tour
Starting this Friday night, Montreal’s self proclaimed loop-rock duo, Cinema L’Amour will be embarking on a cross Canada tour that will take them from our great city of Montreal, across the prairies and all the way to the western shores of British Columbia this September. This Week in Montreal
What a week of shows we have ahead of us. Kicking off tonight with Montreal’s own singer/songwriter David Martel, who will be playing some brand new songs from a his forthcoming EP, the week just get’s better and better culminating on Sunday night in the first night of Joanna Newsom‘s two sold out shows at the Ukrainian Federation. The Hoof & The Heel – Casa Del Popolo – Sunday, January 17th
Last night, Casa Del Popolo’s brand new concert hall played host to some of Montreal’s most exciting up-and-coming bands. Cinéma L’amour would lead things off, followed by The F in Fresh, followed by the night’s headliners, The Hoof & The Heel.
