Tonight in the City
Tonight is the night we’ve all been waiting for. Nickelback will make their triumphant return to Montreal. No but seriously, there are a bunch of great shows happening in Montreal tonight that really deserve some attention. We’ve got Toronto, Ontario’s Parallels playing at Petit Campus with the wonderful Hexes & Ohs, Montreal’s Bananafish launching their debut LP at Club Lambi, and Red Mass, who will tear down the house at Casa Del Popolo. This Week In Montreal
Take a deep breath everyone. We know last week was an unbelievable week of shows, culminating on Saturday with of the best nights for live music in Montreal that we have seen in a long time. Woods + Real Estate – Club Lambi – Saturday March 13th, 2010
Before Saturday night’s show at Club Lambi featuring Valleys, Real Estate, and Woods, I was curious about something. How many people would Real Estate and Woods pull in, in the former’s first trip to Montreal? As it said on Facebook, the tickets were selling fast and that proved to be true given the turn out last night, as the venue was packed.
This Week in Montreal
Although nowhere near as busy as last week, we still have a great week of shows lined up in Montreal this week. The lovely people over at Blue Skies Turn Black have a few great ones lined up including shows by The Clientele and of course tonight’s Joanna Newsom show. But other than that we’ve got some great smaller shows that you should definitely check out if you’re interested in discovering the next best thing.
Pop Montreal & Partners in Health Haiti Benefit Concert – Club Lambi – January 17th, 2010
Last night, Club Lambi hosted Pop Montreal’s benefit show for Haiti, with all proceeds going to Partners in Health. Partners in Health is a United-States based organization that supply health services to Haitians for over twenty years ago. Not only do they focus on the citizen’s health issues, they try as much as possible to create a safer, healthier living environment to improve their overall quality of life. This night at Lambi embodied everything that PIH stands for.
Plants & Animals, Amy Millan Play Haiti Benifit This Sunday
It has just been announced that a benefit show for Haiti will take place this Sunday, January 17th at Club Lambi, with performances by Plants & Animals, Amy Milan, Shapes & Sizes and much much more!
Review: Laurent Bourque – Club Lambi – Friday, November 13th
There was a party-like atmosphere at Club Lambi on Friday, November 13th, for the launch of Laurent Bourque’s debut album and the place was packed, creating a warm atmosphere for the shows two openers, Amos The Transparent and Bananafish.

Girls Show Tonight: Cancelled!
bad news for all you Girls fans. It has been announced that due to border issues the band has had to cancel their show tonight with Real Estate at Il Motore. This is very sad! You border guards should be ashamed of yourselves, robbing us Montrealers of a great performance. We can only hope that there will be a rescheduled date sometime soon.
