Oh Monday, Monday, probably the most dreaded day of the week. We've got a bit of a love/hate thing going on with Mondays. While we hate the return of the work week as much as you do, Monday also means there's a fresh batch of new shows to look forward to. This week sees the return of folk darlings Mumford & Sons. If you weren't lucky enough to grab tickets to their sold out show at Le National, time to start your Craigslist stalking. We love it when a show's double bill just make sense; so that the two acts form a cohesive whole, rather than the openers just tacked on as an afterthought.. In this case, Glasser and Twin Shadow's pairing Wednesday at Il Motore has got us all worked up. Don't feel like staying in watching America's Most Wanted this Saturday night? Sets by DJ Shadow and Ladytron are perhaps slightly more entertaining options. Keep reading to find out what else is going on this week in Montreal, including Violens, Clinic and Horse Feathers.

Blockhead, who you may recognize from his incredible production work with Aesop Rock, has released his fourth instrumental hip-hop masterpiece on Ninja Tune Records (Kid Koala, Amon Tobin, Jaga Jazzist). The Music Scene is the perfect road trip album, with its flawless, chill-out vibe and irresistible beats and grooves. The lack of vocals gives the listener a rare freedom to explore and find their own meaning in the madness.
