Pop Montreal Nights: Part 5
Last night was the fifth and final night of Pop Montreal 2010. They may have saved the best for last though with a star studded Sunday lineup. We had a chance to check out an uplifting performance by the legendary children’s entertainer Fred Penner at The Rialto before heading over to see Scout Niblett at Sala Rossa and one of our festival highlights, The Depreciation Guild at Casa Del Popolo, as well as some late night insanity provided by Big Freedia. Pop Montreal: Hidden Gems
Now that we have taken a day by day look at this year’s Pop Montreal festival and outlined our highlights of a festival that’s a highlight on it’s own we would like to delve a little deeper into this year’s lineup and give you our hidden gems of the fest. The following bands are artists may not be headlining but are all deserving of some attention so be sure to take them into consideration while you are mapping out your festival coverage plans.
Pop Montreal Preview Part 5 (Sunday, Oct. 3)
This is it folks. Pop Montreal has finally arrived! While the mega-fest kicks off tomorrow in Montreal we are back today with the final part of our five part preview of this year’s fest. Venue of the Month: Casa Del Popolo
While January won’t go down in history as the best month of shows in Montreal, our venue of the month for January is a cute little vegetarian restaurant/cafe/bar that will play host to a few great bands throughout the month of January.
