Murder Ford Monument – Self Titled
Who was it that said music is most meaningful when it arouses some of your deepest emotions? I think that might have been me, but either way, Montreal collective Murder Ford Monument‘s debut, self-titled LP is one of those albums that is best enjoyed when you invest yourself in it, rather than having it as casual background music.
Dan Mangan + Laurent Bourque – Green Room – Tuesday, April 20th, 2010
Last night Green Room hosted local favourite Laurent Bourque and Canada’s rising star Dan Mangan where atmosphere and a great audience were key factors in what was an evenly entertaining affair. You could say that, well, 4/20 ended on a…..high?

POM POM WAR – Green Room – Thursday, April 15th, 2010
Upon entering the Green Room last night, it was clear that the word had gotten around. Firstly, the Habs have made the playoffs, so there will be no rioting downtown (unless of course they win the first series). But more importantly, we’ve got an excellent week of concerts lined up. Kicking things off with Best Coast and No Joy tonight at The Friendship Cove and culminating on Sunday night with Gogol Bordello and DeVotchKa at Metropolis in what is sure to be one of the most entertaining shows on the year so far, the week is jam packed with great shows. Here are some more highlights.
A Sunny Day in Glasgow + The Breezes – Green Room – Saturday, April 3rd, 2010
Montreal’s nightlife was booming last night as the day’s residual heat warmed the city and the hearts of many who took advantage of the moderate climate to hit up the city’s numerous music venues. Under the dim lights of the Green Room, the stage was set to host the Montreal native band, The Breezes along with Philadelphia’s A Sunny Day in Glasgow.
