Fringe Pop 2010
The 20th Edition of the Montreal Fringe Festival kicked off last week and launches into it’s second week today. Next Saturday will bring the first day of Fringe Pop, which is Pop Montreal’s contribution to the Festival. All the Fringe Pop musical goodness will take place in Parc des Ameriques and will feature some of Montreal best up and coming bands. And best of all, it’s all free! Before The Show: A Love Letter To The Field
Tomorrow night Green Room will host a variety of Canadian musicians in a benefit for Haiti called A Love Letter To The Field. Playing will be Murray & Natalia of The Dears, Apostle of Hustle front man Andrew Whiteman’s new side project that goes by the name ‘A’ as well as a lot of other great artists. All proceeds from the show will go to Action Against Hunger in Haiti.
MadLove + Gutstrings – Casa Del Popolo – Thursday, February 4th
Thursday night Casa Del Popolo played host to two bands, both from different necks of the woods, and both with very different styles of music. Firsty, we would hear from Montreal’s Gutstrings and then headliners MadLove would take the stage on what was the second stop in their current east coast tour.
