Canadian Indie Geography – Pt. 3: Ontario

Canadian Indie Geography – Pt. 3: Ontario

After a sufficiently elongated break, Canadian Indie Geography is back with part trois. We know Ontario and Quebec are a combined sector, but we just had the hardest time trying to narrow down the pool of talented artists that reside in these two provinces, which is why we’ve separated them and given them their own individual posts. It is very likely we’ve missed an innumerable amount of bands, but that’s where you guys come in and fill up the blanks with comments, but enough blabbing! Here’s part 3 of our Canadian Indie Geography series! Read more…

Cold War Kids – Corona Theatre – 19.03.11

Those who made it to Corona Theatre down on Notre Dame last night were rewarded with a night of beauty – both for the eyes and ears. Canadian Indie Geography – Pt. 1: West Coast

Canadian Indie Geography – Pt. 1: West Coast

Canada’s always had a knack at fostering talented artists in the music world. Leaving at our dispositions an array of musicians, such as Neil Young, Sloan, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Stars, Sam Roberts Band, Simple Plan…Okay, went a little too far with that last one, but it basically goes to show that the Great White North is home to an endless amount of musical talent. We’ve tried our best to make it easier for you by providing a nowhere near extensive list of some great up-and-coming bands the gang at Meet You At The Show personally love listening to. We’ve even divided them into their respective territories. Let’s start things off with the West Coastians. Read more…

The Dø – La Sala Rossa – 09.09.10

Thursday night we were payed a special visit by French/Finish indie pop band The Dø who played La Sala Rossa with Montreal band Braids. With the album finally seeing it’s US release this year it’s only fitting that the band would take to the road in support of the release. Our own Sandy Jolin was lucky enough to be at Sala Rossa on Thursday night to document the show in pictures. Take a look… Read more…
