Interview: Armen at the Bazaar

My first encounter with Armen at the Bazaar was through SouthernSouls.ca. His song, “Drive With Me”, instantly pulled me into a pleasantly chaotic soundscape where I envisioned streetlights dancing before my eyes as I drove alongside Armen at the Bazaar ”high on speed” . Those who give his art a listen will nay be disappointed. His voice beckons and his beats entrance, evoking emotion and movement. Watching him deliver his pieces with passion greatly enhances the experience. His EP Noor both entices us to dance and sing along, and I had the pleasure to quickly interview Armen before his show at Sala Rossa tonight.

It’s time for another Saturday Video Parade! This week we’ve got a a really mixed bag. Antony & The Johnsons have just released this incredibly weird yet intriguingly beautiful video for their song “The Spirit Was Gone” from their brand new album, Swanlights. Also, if there was an award for the band that continually manages to put out some of the most entertaining videos out there it would have to go Foals.
