The Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival continues to roll on this week with a whole new batch of great and eclectic musicians from all over the musical spectrum. Omar Souleyman, Dolphins Into The Future, Jerusalem In My Heart, Parlovr, Colin Stetson and Lichens are a few of the great artists that will be taking the stage this week as a part of this years festival so be sure to check them out. Besides the Suoni shows there are a bunch of great shows going on this week in Montreal. The Dodos and The Antlers will play La Tulipe on Wednesday and Cults will play Il Motore on Sunday. The big guns are coming out to play this week in Montreal. Besides a slew of great smaller shows happening around the city, this week there are a couple of blockbuster shows that many people have been counting down the days to. Firstly, The Pixies will play back to back nights at Metropolis on Wednesday and Thursday with Imaginary Cities. Then on Friday at Le National we’ve got one of the best lineups we’ve seen in a long time with Black Lips, Vivian Girls and Davila 666 taking the stage. Saturday we’ve got Timber Timbre playing at Corona Theatre and TV on the Radio will cap things off at Metropolis on Sunday. We hope you’ve saved up!

David Martel Plays New Song Live In The Old Port

Montreal singer/songwriter David Martel has just released a new video that he and his band (which is now apparently called Awesome Pants) recorded recently in the Old Port of Montreal. With the weather getting colder by the day, the lovely new song is aptly titled “Winter” and they use as a backdrop the massive abandoned grain elevators in the old port.
