Yukon Blonde & The Wooden Sky Tour Together, Play Montreal October 26th
One of the biggest surprises of the last year for us was The Wooden Sky’s performance last November at Il Motore. We went into the show not really knowing what to expect and were pleasantly surprised by not only a great set, but an overall really fun show. Fast forward a few months and the now Polaris Prize nominated Toronto band have just announced that they will be hitting the road for five weeks this fall with fellow Polaris nominees, Vancouver’s Yukon Blonde. The best news of all is that the two band’s will be making a stop in Montreal on October 26th at La Sala Rossa, making this one of our most anticipated shows of the fall.
Polaris Music Prize Long List
The Polaris Music Prize is undoubtedly the most coveted award in the Canadian independent music market. If you haven’t heard, The Polaris Prize is awarded each year to the best Canadian album of that year, based solely on artistic merit and disregarding album sales. Past winners have been Owen Pallett, Patrick Watson, Caribou and Fucked Up. The prize? $20,000 in cash! Well the long list for this year’s Prize has just been announced.
