Best Shows of 2010
2010 has been an amazing year for shows in Montreal thanks to our city’s wonderful concert promoters who have worked their butts off bringing in the worlds best musical talent for our viewing pleasure. After another meeting of the minds we have finally come up with a list of our top 10 shows of the year. This will be the final segment in our Best of 2010 series and we would like to take this time to thank all of you for making our first year running as special as it has been. Yeasayer – Le National – Sunday, May 2nd, 2010
Last night I had the chance to check out two noise-pop-rock buzz bands, Yeasayer and openers Sleigh Bells. Both acclaimed bands have had a busy 2010, with Yeasayer releasing their second LP Odd Blood, and Sleigh Bells promoting their debut album Treats – off M.I.A.’s N.E.E.T. label – which drops May 11.
Get ready, Jónsi is coming to Montreal!
Sigur Rós fans listen up! Contrary to previous belief, Sigur Rós are not releasing an album this year; they will actually be taking an indefinite hiatus (!!), due to interference from side projects and family. But, there is hope in this time of despair! Jónsi Birgisson, who fronts the band, will be going on tour in support of his forthcoming and much-anticipated debut solo album, Go. He will be making a stop in our beautiful city on May 2nd, at Metropolis.
