This Week in Montreal
With this week’s Montreal concert roster we’ve got one foot planted in the past and the other stepping towards the future. Don’t fight the nostalgia that’s leading you to check out Brit punk veterans Buzzcocks. Still kicking and screaming their way across concert stages, the lively Buzzcocks’ antics harken back to glory days of the Manchester punk and New Wave scenes. On the other end of the musical timeline, Fuck Buttons continue to leap towards the future with their experimental electronic numbers. This week is a bit of a boys club with upcoming performances by Tim Fite, Midlake, Eluvium and Shuttle. However, Holly Miranda will be crashing their party. Venue of the Month: Le National
There was much hemming and hawing this month in deciding which Montreal music venue we would name the venue of the month. The final four came down to Il Motore, Green Room, Divan Orange and Le National. To be fair, there are great things going down at all four venues and many others this month. But because of a few highly anticipated acts coming to Le National, we are proud to announce that, for the first time ever, it is our venue of the month for May.
