The stars are coming out this week in Montreal. Starting off tonight with Adele‘s highly anticipated and sold out performance at L’Olympia and continuing throughout the week with performances by A-trak, Lykke Li, Grimes and Arctic Monkeys, we are in store for some great shows this week. But if you’d like to check out some of Montreal’s best local acts, we suggest you check out First You Get The Sugar on Tuesday at Divan Orange, UN, Reversing Falls and Nightwood on Thursday at Casa Del Popolo and Miracle Fortress on Friday at the Torn Curtain. Exclusive: Nightwood Offer Up New Track

Nightwood are a Montreal based trio composed of gal pals Amber Goodwyn and Erin Ross on guitars and drummer Jeremy MacCuish (of Parlovr/Cotton Mouth fame). For the past few years they have slowly been building a name for themselves playing at many of Montreal’s various hot spots and a few others around Canada. With one full length LP already under their belt, the band have been toiling away on some new material that breaks away from the themes we have grown used to on Carta Marina. The beloved Montreal concert hall and bar, which is nestled inconspicuously on St. Laurent street between Maguire and St. Viateur has suffered an electrical fire on the morning of Sunday, April 16th. Until further notice all shows at Green Room will be moved.

We’ve got yet another incredible week of shows lined up in Montreal this week. While you may notice the week will start off a little slow, by the end of the week there are so many great shows happening you’re not gonna know what to do with yourself. Take this Thursday for example. Are you going to go see Horse Feathers at Divan Orange, Timber Timbre & The Luyas at La Tulipe, The Album Leaf & Sea Wolf at the Cabaret or Joseph Arthur at La Sala Rossa. Not to mention Lullabye Arkestra is also playing at Casa Del Popolo the same night! These are just a handful of shows, all happening this week in Montreal.
