Mother Mother – Cabaret Mile-End – 12.11.11

I’m not going to lie, last Saturday night’s crowd at the Cabaret du Mile-End turned out to be a pretty crazy bunch of individuals, sardine-packed into a sold-out venue. Both bands having performed in at least one Osheaga festival here in Montreal, were very impressed with the feedback they got from their experience. They were definitely not left disappointed by the turnout for November 12th’s show either.

Osheaga 2011 was a very special year not only because of the amazing amount of great bands and artists that showed up to play this year’s festival, but because of all the wonderful fans that came out to enjoy the festivities. Day 3 at Osheaga 2011 may go down in history as one of the best days in Osheaga history. Hour after hour and band after band, Sunday started on a high and ended on an even higher high as the 2011 edition of the festival came to a close in grandiose fashion. Saturday at Osheaga 2011 was even better than Friday with a full day of live music from noon till night. Canadian bands playing all day long and even headlining on the main stages. Could it get any better? Let’s not forget that Saturday at Osheaga was Death From Above 1979′s first show in Montreal since their breakup back in 2006. The skies over Montreal opened up last night with one of the most impressive lightning storms of the year thus far. Thankfully the rain didn’t start until the music over at Parc Jean Drapeau had stopped. Day 2 of Osheaga 2011 is a big day for many reasons. Sure there are a ton of great bands and artists playing simultaneously all day long, but for many day 2 will always be remembered as the day that Death From Above 1979 return to the stage in Montreal for the first time since their breakup back in 2006.
