This Week in Montreal: POP Special Edition
It’s time to rest up. This Wednesday marks the start of the 9th annual POP Montreal Festival, and there’s lots to see in the following 5 days. Yet we’re jumping the gun, we can’t forget about a noteworthy batch of shows kicking off this busy week including Best Coast (who’s more famous at this point frontwoman Beth Cosentino or her cat Snacks?), Eels and Foals. Come Wednesday, you’re going to need a game-plan to tackle the endless shows that will be happening around the city. Grimes Set To Drop New Album at Pop Montreal
This year’s Pop Montreal Festival will be amazing for a lot of reasons. Sure a lot of great bands from out of town are coming in to play this year’s festival but what’s even better is how many of the city’s best local bands will be showcased this year. One of these great locals goes by the name of Grimes. And better yet, Grimes will be dropping her sophomore LP, Halfaxa, at this year’s fest as a part of the Arbutus Records showcase that will take place on Thursday, September 30th at the lovely Rialto Theatre.
