Protect IP Act Set to Destroy Music Sharing
The Internet saved independent music. When Myspace began in the mid-2000’s, bands that otherwise would have never had a chance to be heard could now be heard around the world. Not long after, many other websites such as TheSixtyOne, Soundcloud, and, most recently, Bandcamp, would emerge and also give artists the opportunity to share their music with the world for free! With such websites, several bands have gone on to find their audiences through file sharing, as well as pirating; and now the Government of the United States wants to put an end to all of this in the name of greed and control. Interview: The Naked and Famous
We’re back again to bring you another interview. We recently had a chance to speak to the New Zealand band The Naked and Famous. We’re big fans of these guys and they’re a pretty big deal back in the NZ. In 2010 their single “Young Blood” debuted on the New Zealand chart at number one and they we’re nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2011 poll as well. Radiohead Perform New Song at Haiti Benefit
Sunday night, Radiohead held a tremendously successful benefit for Haiti, raising an unbelievable $572,774 for Oxfam.
