After a little break, This Week in Montreal is back in full force with a slew of exciting shows on the horizon. It's difficult for us at MYATS to contain our excitement over tomorrow's Sufjan Stevens show. In town to promote his new LP The Age of Adz, expect nothing short of spectacular from the mysterious Mr. Stevens. If you're in the mood to let off some steam, Dan Deacon's Wednesday show at Cabaret Mile End may do the trick - caution not for the claustrophobic. Finally, Deerhunter are in town performing at La Tulipe on Sunday. While the ensemble's side projects, such as Atlas Sound and Lotus Plaza, have tided us over, we're excited to see the group back together and touring for the glorious new LP Halcyon Digest. Keep on reading for more highlights of shows happening around town this week, including Avi Buffalo, Blonde Redhead and The Drums.

We're knee deep in the lazy days of summer. Sometimes nothing feels as quite as good as doing nothing. While we all enjoy our afternoon drinks, the post-work naps and indecisive evening plans, sometimes we all require a little jostle to wake us up from our summer snoozes. Lucky for us, there are some rather interesting shows to keep us occupied all week long. Fool's Gold bring their Afropop 80s style beats to Le Belmont this Tuesday. South African hip-hop group and internet sensations Die Antwoord are in town performing this Wednesday at Le National, co-headlining with Sleigh Bells. My pick of the week would have to be Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, whose lo-fi psychedelic pop numbers are sure to provide you with enough conversation starters to get you through the weekend. But, that's not all folks... Keep on reading for more show highlights this week, including Kurt Vile and Real Estate, and Deleted Scenes.

Over the past year lo-fi pop has grown into quite the monster of a trend. Lo-fi pop rockers like Girls, Vivian Girls, and WAVVES have managed to captivate listeners with their fuzzy and hazy bedroom sounds. It appears the trend is far from abating. As much you might say you are sick of low-production buzz bands, how can you explain how a new crop lo-fi darlings like Dum Dum Girls or Best Coast are making it in the big time? Lo-fi pop/punk/garage rock, whatever you may call it is here to stay. So where does Cloud Nothings fit into all of this?
