K-Os – Club Soda – 12.10.2011
K-Os made a return to Montreal this weekend, supported by Toronto’s up-and-coming The Dirty Mags. Although they were at opposite end’s of the music spectrum next to K-Os, they captured the audience with their buzzing energy and thrashing guitars. K-Os, as always, put on an a jaw-dropping show filled with dancing, big smiles and great energy. Take a look at some of our photos we grabbed from the night.
Misteur Valaire – Metropolis – 12.10.2011
On Saturday night, Quebec’s own Misteur Valaire came through Montreal and made his stop at Metropolis. Our photographer Christie Vuong was on the scene, and she grabbed some fantastic photos to share with you. Take a look, you won’t regret it! It looks like it was an out-of-this-world show. Enjoy!

Tandoori Knights – Il Motore – 30.11.11
Il Motore was fully revved on Wednesday night due to a packed house and a spicy menu as Bloodshot Bill, Crystal Stilts and Tandoori Knights took over Little Italy. As the punters shuffled in, dragging wisps of cold air behind them, the DJ played a mix of vinyl that zig-zagged between Detroit rock, British invasion, southern soul and noise rock. A good start to what turned out to be an interesting and eclectic evening. Read more…

Library Voices + Graham Wright – Casa Del Popolo – 26.10.11
The amount of energy that was packed into the tiny Casa Del Popolo venue on the night of October 26, 2011 is hardly expressible in writing. The dynamic Library Voices, and opener Graham Wright (sharing the stage with a talented group of friends) played an explosive show, filled with a jumping crowd and all sorts of shenanigans provided by both bands. It’s unfortunate for those who missed out, but I’ve done my best do include all the highlights of the night in this review, so just keep reading! Read more…
Real Estate + Twin Sister @ Il Motore – 20.07.11
There are certain bands that can add to the soundtrack of your summer life, and last Wednesday, the good folks at Blue Skies Turn Black gave a taste of four possibilites. The first, a Lee Hazelwood inspired Dent May, the second, aspiring psychadelic punk rockers, Lost Boy ?, the third, the haunting music of Twin Sister, and then finally, the pretty surf pop of Real Estate.
