It’s pretty well known that Iceland has a very interesting and rich music scene. And we’re not just talking about Sigur Rós and Bjork. More and more these days we are hearing from new and great Icelandic bands. One of these great bands is Seabear. Before their show in Montreal we had a chance to sit down with a couple of members from the band to chat about music, Iceland and how things are different than here in North America. Get ready, Jónsi is coming to Montreal!
Sigur Rós fans listen up! Contrary to previous belief, Sigur Rós are not releasing an album this year; they will actually be taking an indefinite hiatus (!!), due to interference from side projects and family. But, there is hope in this time of despair! Jónsi Birgisson, who fronts the band, will be going on tour in support of his forthcoming and much-anticipated debut solo album, Go. He will be making a stop in our beautiful city on May 2nd, at Metropolis.
New Jónsi Single – “Boy Lilikoi”
Sigur Rós front man, Jónsi Thor Birgisson, is all set to release his debut solo album, entitled Go, this spring. The first single from the album is called “Boy Lilikoi” and it is everything you’d expect and more.
