Memphis Return With New Album/Play Il Motore April 7th
It has been forever and a day since we have heard anything new from Canadian duo, Memphis. I guess the reasons are good enough. Torquil Campbell, who forms half of Memhpis, is also the head honcho in another very popular Canadian indie rock band. Maybe you’ve heard of them? They’re called Stars. Well when he’s not rocking out with Stars he likes to team up with friend and fellow musician Chris Dumont as Memphis. The duo is back in 2011 with their first new release in five years and an east coast tour to go along with it.
Canadian Indie Geography – Pt. 1: West Coast
Canada’s always had a knack at fostering talented artists in the music world. Leaving at our dispositions an array of musicians, such as Neil Young, Sloan, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Stars, Sam Roberts Band, Simple Plan…Okay, went a little too far with that last one, but it basically goes to show that the Great White North is home to an endless amount of musical talent. Best Shows of 2010
2010 has been an amazing year for shows in Montreal thanks to our city’s wonderful concert promoters who have worked their butts off bringing in the worlds best musical talent for our viewing pleasure. After another meeting of the minds we have finally come up with a list of our top 10 shows of the year. This will be the final segment in our Best of 2010 series and we would like to take this time to thank all of you for making our first year running as special as it has been. This Week in Montreal
So how did December arrive so quickly? One morning its fall and the next day Montreal is bedecked with Christmas paraphernalia. The holidays can be a busy time, full of cozy dinners, sleigh rides, skating… ok this is more of our Christmas fantasy.
