Let’s face it, how many times do we have Tony Bennett, Dave Brubeck, Peter Frampton and Kaki King playing at the same time as Hey Ocean!, The Dears, White Denim, Mazes, Jaga Jazzist, The Roots and Weezer. The Jazz Fest takes full swing this week with a variety of amazing shows going on all over the city. The annual M For Montreal Festival wrapped up Saturday night at Metropolis. As was the story on the first two nights of the fesitval, this night would again feature an extremely eclectic variety of musical genres ranging from indie rock, to franco-pop to heavy metal. There is so much going on this week, we don’t know where to start. Tunng kicks off this busy week tonight at Casa Del Popolo. To get a little more acquainted with Tuung check out our interview with the UK experimental pop group HERE. Friday night at Pop Montreal was a night of very tough decisions. It just so happened that The xx, Timber Timbre, Deerhoof and The Dears were all playing more or less simultaneously. So after some deliberation we went with hometown heroes, The Dears. This was after all the bands third and final show at this year’s festival and after missing them the first two nights, Friday night turned out to be all about The Dears.
