We hope you’ve had a quiet and restful weekend because this week, Montreal will be completely jam packed with great shows happening night after night. It’s also apparently album release week in Montreal as there are a number of Montreal bands playing album release shows this week. Malajube will play back to back sold out shows on Tuesday and Wednesday at La Tulipe as they release their latest LP, La Caverne. Pat Jordache will also be releasing his debut album this Thursday at Discoteque Tropicale as well as Grimes and D’Eon who will be releasing a brand new split this Friday at La Sala Rossa. An early spring has been predicted by all the major players in the groundhog industry and so there is reason to be happy, even though we’re still digging our way out of the dumping of snow we received on Saturday night. The other reason to be happy is that the month of February is lining up to be an incredible month for live music in Montreal. We are thrilled to announce that this Saturday, November 6th, we will be putting on a show at Bar L’Absynthe featuring two up and coming Toronto bands, Clothes Make The Man and Jane’s Party along with two of our local favourites Burls and The Wind Up Radio Sessions. This show will also serve as our one year anniversary so not only will you have a chance to hear some great music from some of Canada’s most promising talent but you will also get to raise a glass with the MYATS crew in our celebration of our first birthday. Our MUTEK show picks are Matias Aguayo Presents Cómeme (if you haven’t heard his hit song Rollerskate, you’re missing out), and Mouse on Mars.
