With the end of the 12th edition of the annual MUTEK Festival comes the beginning of the this year’s Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival, which celebrates great music in all of it’s various forms. Arbutus Records Is Making Waves in April
There’s a lot going on this month over at local record label Arbutus Records. The label that is home to some of the best Montreal bands like Silly Kissers, Grimes, Sean Nicholas Savage, Pop Winds and most recently, Dream Machine, will have a lot in store for us this month with a couple of great shows and some looming new album releases. This Week In Montreal
While there isn’t much going on in the city tonight, strap your boots on because from Tuesday on the week will just get better and better. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday will be especially tough days to choose a concert since there are at least three great options each night but if you are looking for a show on Wednesday night we’d like to turn your attention to the Arbutus Records fundraiser that will be going on at Casa Del Popolo. The local label will be raising money for the release of Tonstartssbandht‘s Now I Am Become LP that will be released in May and along with Andy Summers from the band performing, Makeout Videotape and Pop Winds will also play. Venue of the Month: Il Motore
It was a bit tough to choose our venue of the month for February, because of how many great shows are taking place throughout the city this month. But after much deliberation, we have chosen Il Motore, for the second time in three months, as our venue of the month of February.
Review: Max Tundra & Deastro – Club Lambi – Monday, November 9th
Walking into the main room of Club Lambi, the first thing you notice is that while the room is very small it has a welcoming atmosphere nonetheless. And even though there were only a few people that had trickled in, the show started anyways, with a Montreal duo called TONSTARTSSBANDHT leading off.
Girls Show Tonight: Cancelled!
bad news for all you Girls fans. It has been announced that due to border issues the band has had to cancel their show tonight with Real Estate at Il Motore. This is very sad! You border guards should be ashamed of yourselves, robbing us Montrealers of a great performance. We can only hope that there will be a rescheduled date sometime soon.
